Picking Apart Protea Flowers

Some photos of me picking apart my recent batch of Protea flowers. These ones were really sticky and my hands were covered in what seemed like dry pritstick afterwards :)

After the core is pulled out I spend hours separating it all into 3 different catagories of plant material. After separation there are 3 main groups from the core bulk of the flower.

Below is one of the 3 (style with the furry seed) The pink tips are the pollen presenters but over time the pink turns brown. Layered some of these into a book by gluing down the seeds. So far my favourite way of presenting this part of the flower...
