Dried Flowers & Progression

Bought 20 Protea flowers for the use of their styles and seeds (for blanket- like sculpture.) 

They have dried up in our hot studio but are still beautiful. In third photo the style tips are visible (the pollen presenters). Usually bright pink and yellow.

Made a frame in the workshop for polaroids. Hoping to compile a better series of 6 photos for final presentation that illustrate sites and locations of the plants and material that I have used during my time at DOJ.

The frame with two pieces of printing fabric stretched over for creating 'style blanket'. Piercing the fabric with the pieces of Protea flowers to create a mass of seeds that looks like a blanket or rug when removed from wooden frame.
